Just as I decide I need to pause my library holds to get ready to move next month I get a deluge of books! I’m going to be reading everything I can so I can return these beauties before I have to pack them! I have 5 books waiting to be picked up and 2 more in transit. Thanks Shannon for this check-in! What did you read from the library this month?
But you have so many great books waiting for you! Americanah, The Girls, Rich & Pretty, Homegoing!
I’ve really held off reading Lily & Octopus. I’m not in the mood to have my heart stomped on. And then you also have Just Mercy out! Good lord woman! Do you own stock in kleenex??
So many books! I threw over the other 5 books I have started and picked up The Girls today. I need to work on Lily while the kid is sleeping this weekend. I at least figured I couldn’t read in public. I’m going to balance that and Just Mercy with lots of YA or smut I swear.
Fargo is SO good! And you have so many good books on your lists – make sure to get to The Girls! And I’m planning to try Lily and Octopus before the year is out.
I started The Girls this morning! I’m very excited.
I borrowed a bunch that I will read in Aug
Soooo many good options in that checked out pile! That’s awesome. Just Mercy is heavy but so very good and important. I really hope you can get to it.
I feel like ALL of us are moving this month or next! What’s with this mass book blogger exodus?! Best of luck with your move!
My move is local at least! I’m way excited for your big move!
I’m so excited about your holds! Fargo is amazing and I can’t wait for you to read Shrill!
Wow. Your checked-out list is amazing. I know you are going to enjoy them all!
I definitely have good reading ahead!
Holy cow- you’re going to need to put a hold on your Hold list!
And yes, it is completely reasonable to take sick days in order to finish up library books before they’re due (or you move).
I totally do! I am going to pause a few holds if they get too close to the top when I start to panic. Thank goodness the CPL is so amazing!
Americanaaaaaaaaaaah! I hope you like it, I absolutely loved it. Rich and Pretty is on my TBR list, as well, and I’m hoping to get to it very soon. It looks excellent.
So many good books! Americanah is so great, you’ll like that one.
Shrill! SO GOOD. When I moved several years ago, I actually got a crap ton of reading done because I used it as a reward 🙂 Good luck!
Oh I like how you think! I could use rewards!
Ooo, I really liked the Unbecoming of Mara Dyer! It was a super interesting, neat read. I hope you like it!
Libraries are the BEST. Good luck reading all of your books on time!

I’ve heard so much good stuff about this series. Sounds like something good to dig into along with my heavy reading.
If what you mean by “heavy” is “sad and depressed”, this book is full of it… In a good way! I mean, PTSD! And realistic notions! All good things! (Ish!)
I loved The Girls. I will be interested in your thoughts. You have a great haul there! Happy Reading!
